About PIMFVirtual Music Camps & Classes

The Philadelphia International Music Camp & Festival (PIMF) offers student musicians of all ages and skill levels the unique opportunity of spending up to four weeks immersed in music education and performance training with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra. 

For 23 years, young musicians have attended PIMF from throughout the U.S. and from nations around the world, including: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, Ecuador, England, France, Georgia, Germany, Haiti, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Ireland, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Macedonia, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and elsewhere.

These musicians have gone on to study at such outstanding institutions as: Curtis Institute of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music, Eastman School of Music, James Madison University, The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes School of Music, Miami University, National Conservatory of Music – Mexico, Peabody Conservatory, Princeton University, Rice University – Shepherd School of Music, Rome Conservatory of Music, and many others. 

In the spring of 2020 PIMF added to its repertoire of programs virtual music camps with various program options including: Symphony Orchestra, Solo Performance, and Piano Studies. Each virtual program was carefully crafted to include nearly all of the same opportunities offered at our on-site festival.  In many cases, activities and events were actually added to the daily schedules of our virtual summer programs. The great success these programs met with led us to create new virtual programs, including a virtual fall master class series, a virtual winter solo performance camp, virtual private lessons, and much more.

In the fall of 2021 PIMF added the PIMF Music Academy through which the festival presents online music classes and weekend “boot camps” for students desirous of continuing their music studies with the Philadelphia International Music Festival year-round. 

Detailed information re: Logging into the PIMF Virtual Camp portal, links to corresponding repertoire selections, video conferencing navigation tips, etc. are emailed to students prior to the start of any virtual program.
